Alan M. Gilstein
Alan M. Gilstein, CPA, a founding partner of Picc-erelli, Gilstein & Company, LLP, was awarded the Personal Financial Specialist designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounting. The PFS designation, established in 1987 by the AICPA, recognizes Certified Public Accountants with considerable professional experience in financial planning. All PFS candidates must also hold a valid CPA certificate and be and an AICPA member in good standing. Gilstein has been a CPA for 33 years and is an active board member and Treasurer of Miriam Hospital. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Lifespan Corporation, and previously a board member of the RI Airport Corporation.

Ralph DeLullo
Ralph DeLullo was named Assistant Vice-President of Apollo Auto Sales, Inc. He joined the firm in 1985 as a buyer. DeLullo will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation, including sales and administration.
BANKING
Eileen A. Ryan-Saeger
Eileen A. Ryan-Saeger was recently hired as vice president in the commercial services division at First Federal Savings Bank of America. Ryan-Saeger will be assisting customers in Bristol County, Mass., with their business financing needs. She was previously a vice president in commercial lending for Rhode Island Hospital Trust/BankBoston. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College and is enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at URI.
James M. Vessey
James M. Vesey was recently appointed senior vice president of commercial lending for the Washington Trust Company. He is responsible for overseeing all commercial lending activities for the bank. Vesey began his career working for Fleet Bank and left in 1994 to pursue consulting, teaching and investment banking opportunities. His last position was with Citizens Bank as senior vice president and director of business banking. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Warwick Boys and Girls Club, is the director of Central Rhode Island Development Corporation, and a former instructor for the New England College of Finance.

Herbert Johnson
Herbert Johnson joined Ignite Communications’ new business development department as sales manager. He brings over 25 years of sales and marketing experience with emphasis in major account development. Having held positions in sales management with AT&T, IBM, Manpower, Textron and Great Western Bank, he has recently relocated to Rhode Island from Canada. There he was senior vice president with commercial real estate company Jordan & Johnson Associates. Johnson has a bachelor of science degree from Providence College and has participated in graduate studies at UCLA. He will be responsible for business development in the creative and new media services division of Ignite. Some of Johnson’s activities include the 1999 March of Dimes Walk, where he was an America RI Chapter Committee Member, Big Brothers of Los Angeles from 1995-1998 and Member of Central RI Chamber of Commerce for 1999.

Jeanne Stowe
Jeanne Stowe was appointed Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of HMS of Newport, Inc., a leading provider of long term care as well as subacute services. Stowe spent the last four years serving as HMS of Newport’s vice president of program services. She will be responsible for directing, managing and supervising the company’s three facilities. Stowe holds a master’s degree in health care management from Bryant College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boston College.

Patricia Talin
Patricia Talin was recently promoted to Vice-President in Amica Mutual Insurance Company’s personnel department. Talin, a graduate of Wells College and New York University, began working for Amica in 1971 as an underwriting clerk. She was promoted three times before becoming an administrative officer in 1977. Other promotions followed and she was elevated to senior assistant vice president in 1997.

T. Robert Mahoney
T. Robert Mahoney is Lee Engineering’s new Vice President of Sales and Marketing. His responsibilities include management of all sales and marketing activities, including Lee’s sales force, trade advertising, trade show activities, public relations, and marketing support functions. A graduate of Dartmouth College he was previously sales manager for Premier Thread Company of Bristol.
Jonathan C. Riley
Jonathan C. Riley was named marketing manager of the Teknor Color Company. Riley will join the color business team and have responsibility for leading and coordinating the activities of the Teknor Color Marketing Department. Prior to joining Teknor, he was employed as marketing manager by Ciba Specialty Chemicals of Delaware and held various positions with BASF Corporation of Michigan. Riley holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Olivet Nazarene University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Michigan at Dearborn.

Anne E. Powers
Anne E. Powers was recently elected chair of the Board of Governors of Leadership Rhode Island Program for a one-year term. She is president of Harbor Health Care Management, LLC, and a graduate of the 1986 Leadership Rhode Island Program. She was a board member for the last two years. As board chair, Powers is overseeing the organization’s adoption of a new governance structure that includes a smaller, policy-oriented 12-member Board of Governors and a 60-member Trustee Council. Other newly-elected members include A. Kathryn Power, M. Douglas Fay, Anna F. Prager, Richard DeRienzo, John Harpootian, Marcus E. Jannitto, F. Paul Mooney, Susan Rittscher, Beverly A. Scott, and Peter C. Wells.
