Michael S. Resnick, CPA, has joined Suls West-gate & Parente LLP as partner and director of taxation. Formerly with KPMG Peat Marwick as a senior tax manager, Resnick brings more than fifteen years of public accounting experience to the company. An instructor in the evening division of the Bryant College Graduate Tax Program, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island CPA Society. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s in taxation from Bryant College

Vicky Roy
Vicky Roy of Warwick has been named administrative assistant of Mail Processing Concepts, Inc. Previously a data entry clerk, Roy’s new responsibilities include supervising outside services and contract administration. Before joining MPC she worked in the sales and customer service industry with health insurance companies. Located in East Providence Mail Processing Concepts is Rhode Island’s first and only automated barcode sorting company.

Richard W. Singleton

Richard W. Singleton has been appointed vice president of group benefits at Group Benefit Advisors, Inc. He was previously senior account executive for United Healthcare of New England, responsible for sales in the large client market in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He recently won the ‘Sales Pinnacle Award’ for United Healthcare. Singleton formerly was with Providence Mutual Life Insurance, and is the former president of Dale Carnegie Training of RI.

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Pamela S. Holmes
Pamela S. Holmes has joined The Holson Burnes Group as marketing services manager. She oversees collateral development, fix-turing and retail point-of-purchase, trade-show management, showroom merchandising, public relations and Internet communications for the company’s five brands: Burnes of Boston, Carr, RareWoods, Terragrafics and Holson. With 15 years of communications experience prior to joining Holson Burnes, Holmes most recently served as marketing manager for Harborside Graphics Sportswear in Maine. She received her bachelor’s degree in advertising communications from Simmons College.

 

HEALTH CARE

Robert P. Picard
Robert P. Picard, RN, has been appointed manager of home care clinical services at Roger Williams Medical Center. He is responsible for overseeing a staff of 50 nurses and 25 home care aides, who provide service to residents throughout Southern New England. Prior to joining RWMC, Picard was employed at the Visiting Nurse Service of Greater Woonsocket. He received his nursing education at Rhode Island Junior College and has received numerous nursing awards, including Student Nurse of the Year, American Heart Association Rhode Island Nurse of the Year and the American Heart Association Special Service Award. He resides in Woonsocket with his wife Suzanne.

 

HOSPITALITY

Glen A. Motta
Glen A. Motta has been named general manager of The Boathouse Restaurant. He has ten years experience in restaurant management. He holds a number of certifications from Johnson & Wales University and an associate’s degree from the Community College of Rhode Island. He was previously manager/director of the Officers Club, NETC in Newport.

 

 

MANUFACTURING

Nancy A. Roderick
Nancy A. Rod-erick of Pawtucket has been named human resource administrator for Fielding Manufacturing. She administers all human resource functions in accordance with company rules and policies and federal state laws. She has held similar positions with previous employers, including Nutramax, Cough and Cold Division, in Brockton, Mass.; Strawberries, Inc., in Milford, Mass.; and Globe Distribution, in Lincoln, R.I. She is working on an associate’s degree in business administration from the Community College of Rhode Island and a human resources certificate program at Bryant College in Smithfield.

In the June issue of Entrepreneur Magazine, Cumberland company Total Manufacturing was named to the annual Dun & Bradstreet/Entrepreneur Magazine’s Hot 100 list as one of the fastest growing companies in America. Total, which was founded in August of 1997 by a group of private investors, is headed by Carleton Reed, who serves as president, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. The company is a contract manufacturer which serves as an outsource vendor for complete mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.

MORTGAGING
Colonial Mortgage Group, Inc. has announced the opening of its newest branch in Rumford. The company, which is a retail mortgage banker, is licensed to operate in both North Carolina and Rhode Island. Founders, Gabe Libutti and Vin Marcello, both Rumford natives, have over 12 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry. The new manager of the branch will be Sarah Scaramella. Scaramella is also a native Rhode Islander.

Christopher Morley
Former bank wholesale lending manager Christopher Morey has been named assistant vice president of mortgage secondary marketing at Bank of Newport. Prior to joining Bank of Newport, he was employed at First New Hampshire Bank, Flagstar Bank, and First Federal Savings Bank of America. He has served as a board member with RIMBA for the past ten years. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration fromBoston University.

 

STAFFING

Debra Drohan
Debra Drohan has joined Allied Personnel, Inc. as a staffing specialist. In her new recruiting role at API, she will be responsible for job development and recruitment with the office/clerical division of the company.
