ADVERTISING

Lisa Reilly has been hired as senior account executive at Fleming &
Roskelly, Inc. of Newport. She will be servicing various advertising
accounts including Newport Grand Jai Alai, the Newport County Convention
& Visitors Bureau, NES Clothing Company and Red Jacket Inns. Reilly was
previously employed by Tracey Locke & Partners as the account director
on the Golden Books Family Entertainment account. She obtained her
bachelor’s degree in media studies from Sacred Heart University in
Connecticut.

BANKING

Donald Dolphin has been promoted to senior vice president of Trust at
Citizens Bank. With Citizens since 1969, Dolphin has a bachelor’s degree
in business administration and economics from Clark University, and is a
chartered financial analyst. Before coming to the bank nearly thirty
years ago, he was investment manager with Phoenix Mutual Life in
Connecticut. He is a member of Lafayette Lodge #47 AF&M, the Rhode
Island Historical Society, the Providence Financial Analysts, and the
Lincoln Town Council.

Eric M. Hughes, has been appointed a vice president in the commercial
services division of First Federal Savings Bank of America. He joined
FIRSTFED last May as a senior business developer. Hughes earned his
bachelor of science degree at the U.S. Naval Academy, and his master of
science degree at the Colorado School of Mines and his master’s degree
in business administration at Boston University. Hughes is active in the
community, serving as an Easter Seals volunteer for many years as well
as being a member of the Quincy Rotary Club.

DESIGN

Lynda C. Martel has joined has joined Providence design firm
Adkins/Balchunas as president. In this newly created position, she is
responsible for setting strategic direction and accelerating the growth
of the 17-year old firm. She will also oversee day-to-day operations and
ensure that client deliverables meet A/B’s standards. Prior to joining
the company she was director of worldwide marketing communications at
GTECH Corporation.

FINANCE

Michael B. Fines, Esq. is now associated with the Sowa Financial Group
in East Providence. As an investment adviser representative, he will be
serving clients of Southern New England. His past work experience
includes the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission and the Rhode Island
Department of Business Regulation.

HEALTHCARE

Samuel H. Greenblatt, M.D., chief of neurosurgery at Memorial Hospital
of Rhode Island has recently been named president-elect of the
International Society for the History of Neurosciences. He will serve
his term from 1999 to 2000. Dr. Greenblatt, one of the original founders
of the group, has served as treasurer since its inception in 1995. He
earned his medical degree in 1966 at Cornell University Medical College,
and received his neurosurgical residency training at the Dartmouth
Hitchcock Medical Center from 1970 to 1974.

MANUFACTURING

John J. Ingariola has been appointed purchasing manager of the Pawtucket
manufacturing company called The Cooley Group. He is responsible for
contracts with all materials, freight, utilities and services that are
supplied to the company, in addition to managing the purchasing
department. He has more than 18 years of purchasing experience, most
recently working for Chase and Sons in Randolph, Mass. He resides in
Easton, Mass.

MARKETING

Joseph Prillmayer has joined Firebrand LLC as a program consultant. He
will be responsible for the marketing strategy firm’s creation and
execution of business development programs. Prior to the appoint
ment, Prillmayer was an associate product marketing manager for Compaq
Computer Corporation. There he was responsible for design of sales and
marketing strategies for OEM products in the Latin American marketplace.
Prillmayer has a degree in political science from the University of
Rhode Island and is currently enrolled in an MBA program at Northeastern
University.

SERVICES

Mary Sward Hurley of Best Impression Résumé and Career Development
Services has been named to the ‘Ask the Experts’ panel of the National
Association of Colleges and Employers. This panel can be found at
http://www.jobweb.org. She will be assisting NACE by helping job
seekers that have questions regarding résumés, cover letters, job
searches and other career-related issues. Hurley is one of only 38
resume’ writers in the country to hold the Nationally Certified Résumé
Writer credential and the only NCRW in Rhode Island.

TRANSLATIONS

Pro Trans, Inc. of Barrington, a professional translation company has
announced that it has been selected by Federal Products Company, an
international manufacturer of precision measuring devices in Providence,
to provide translations of their user’s manuals for the European market.
In addition, the company has also been chosen as the translation company
of record for InterNet Services Corporation, a marketing conglomerate in
South Carolina. Pro-Trans is a full-service translation company
providing translation and interpreting services from and into all major
languages.

TRAVEL

Will Postle, travel consultant at the Woonsocket office of Carlson
Wagonlit/Donovan Travel has recently earned the professional designation
of Certified Travel Associate from the Institute of Certified Travel
Agents in Wellesley, Mass. The CTA designation is the first level of a
two-step designation process for professional recognition in ICTA’s
certification process. It exists for travel professionals who have made
a personal commitment to enhance their level of professional practice.
To earn the designation, one must complete courses in sales and service,
geography, communication and technology.
